  1. Place the 6 eggs in a single layer in a saucepan.
  2. Add enough cold water to cover the eggs by 1 inch.
  3. Bring the water with the eggs to a boil over high heat.
  4. Boil the eggs for 12 minutes.
  5. Transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water with a slotted spoon.
  6. Let the eggs cool in the ice water for 10 minutes.
  7. Peel the cooled eggs.
